Head & Face Protection

ARCBAN Hood made from Nomex® ATPV 40 cal/cm2

Description

ARC PROTECTIVE Three layer hood style HN500 with wide front and back mantle (mantle is 7.6 cal/cm2 only), giving protection against the thermal hazards of an electric arc and also against accidental contact with heat and flame. Outer layer made from durable, antistatic, rip stop fabric of Nomex® Comfort fibres. Middle layer of antistatic, pique fabric made of Nomex® Comfort fibres, inner layer also durable, antistatic, rip stop fabric of Nomex® Comfort fibre.

This hood should be worn with a suitable protective visor which is known to provide sufficient heat and light energy attenuation - the current EN standard does not provide for such measurement - you may therefore consider using data gained from the ASTM test method.

Shown here with ARCBAN Paulson visor mounted on a safety helmet - see below for specification

You should also consider the effects of the intensely bright light on the wearers eyes - you might choose to use tinted (shaded) spectacles or goggles beneath the visor you have chosen - CAUTION - you must ensure that any such tint / shade does not hamper the wearers capability to discriminate different colours (for instance of cables or indicator / warning lights).
